A very BIG thanks to officers from Lake Macquarie Police District for turning up to support the Special Olympics State Bocce tournament at Charlestown this afternoon. Insp Lisa Jones and her team were able to take part in the Torch Run and cauldron lighting ceremony and deliver some fine words of encouragement. The athletes absolutely loved talking to the police and having their pictures taken with the team.
Our very own Hayley Schubert was also presented with her 2025 Final Leg Torch from Turin, Italy – which she earned through her wonderful fundraising efforts in the lead up to the World Games in Turin earlier in the year. Well earned Hayley. Thanks also to Don, Scott and Alan for their logistical support.
